This blog is dedicated to the exploration of headwear-related needs of women experiencing chemotherapy-induced hair loss. A part of my master's thesis project, the blog has been created to help me gain knowledge about the needs, preferences and suggestions related to headwear from women experiencing hair loss due to chemotherapy. Your comments on this blog will be greatly appreciated and might be used in my research. No personally identifying information will be mentioned. The insight gained will be used to develop headwear that will better address women's needs and help improve their quality of life. Thank you!
The headwear had to be very soft against my head, which was extremely sensitive, and I didn't like seams in the back, as it was uncomfortable if I put my head back, or tried to sleep in it. I also liked headwear that was colorful and pretty.
ReplyDeleteThe Underhair I wore was human hair -- I could wash, condition, dry, comb, brush, curl, flat iron. You name it. I treated it just like it was the hair on my head. I even cut it to resemble the style I had pre-hair loss.

If I had to do it again (fingers crossed I don't!), I'd only buy human hair.
I needed something soft with no seams. It was also hard to find head wear that fit a bald head properly.
